Coyote update

Alright, so it has been a while. Coyote is doing better, the wound is slowly closing and it is still oozing a bit of pus and blood, three weeks later. He was taken off SMZ yesterday since it has been three weeks and Dr. Casas thinks that the primary sinus infection is gone. Dacia took a swab from the wound and submitted it for culture: it came back with two identified bacteria: e. coli and enterococcus, both responsive to only two (expensive) antibiotics and resistant to many others. Dr. Casas put Coyote on Baytril, gave him his first shot yesterday and we are to continue oral dispension today. Hope he gets better and does not colic! The woud is also granulating more than necessary so we are putting Animex on it (steroids) so that it does not overgrow. Boy, what a problematic recovery :(
